1. Pick Up Local Produce at the Spring Market
When the warm weather comes around, lots of plants begin to sprout from the ground. So why not enjoy a market where you can pick up fresh local produce? Spring Market Jackson allows locals to do just that.
The market takes place at Mississippi Trade Mart at 1200 Mississippi Street. It starts on Friday, March 24th. Over 125 merchants will be present, selling everything from locally-grown flowers to handcrafted gifts. Along with general shopping, there are silent auctions throughout the weekend.
2. Check Out Naturefest at the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science
If you’ve never visited the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science, this spring might be a good opportunity to change that fact. You can get up close and personal with zoo animals, enjoy guided nature hikes, and blow off steam with an inflatable obstacle course. If all that fun works up an appetite, there will be three food trucks on site to feed you. You’ll find the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science on Riverside Drive in LeFleur’s Bluff State Park.
3. Meet Bunnies and Butterflies at Mississippi Children’s Museum
Mississippi Children’s Museum is another great Jackson attraction that’s perfect for families, and their Bunnies and Butterflies event is sure to be a hit. Children taking part in the event will learn how to nurture their own gardens and find out more about local wildlife. There will also be the opportunity to create bunny and butterfly costumes!
This event will take place on April 8th. The museum is located at 2145 Museum Boulevard, within the grounds of LeFleur’s Bluff State Park. It can be found very close to the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science.
